This is the second 8', 3wt Morgan rod from the last weeks work. Same blank, same guides, and same color scheme. But the ergonomics and reel seat is completely different. I decided to make a very thin and long grip to get the feeling you almost hold the blank in your hand. This grip style is very common on rods from the 19th century. I have always found it intriguing how things can change so radically over time. A hand looked exactly the same one hundred years ago, and I assume they held the rod in a similar way. Trends come and go, why not duplicate the really old ones? This rod was made on custom order and was my last Morgan for a while.
