Here comes a McFarland 8', 5wt blank that I recently picked up from a friend in the US. It's a very powerful and calm taper, with lots of butt reserve and a deep loading action. I have appointed it with my own reel seat design in aluminum and grey rubber, a Ritz grip and chrome guides wrapped in white silk. The stripping guide is highlighted with color preserved white thread, and the writing was made in white ink. I made this rod to match a reel made by my friend, reel maker Anders Schagerström.
