It's been a while since I built a James Green Semi-Parabolic. This is a taper that James helped me develop two years ago. I still hold it as one of the best 4wt rods I have ever cast. Unfortunately this was the last in my inventory, but I plan to order more from James during this year. This rod was ordered by a gentleman in Japan, and I can only imagine walking along a Japanese mountain stream with this rod in the hand. It was appointed with a reel seat in blued brass and yellow Micarta. The skeleton design is completely new, and it holds the reel foot perfectly without leaving groves in the cork insert. A short Ritz grip and dark nickel guides wrapped with orange silk.
