I still have a few blanks left from my taper development project a few years back. This was made as a demo rod for Alternative Tackle in the UK who is representing my work internationally. I have been working on a new reel seat for a while, and this is the first completed rod showing it off. This reel seat allows you to mount the reel both up-lock or down-lock depending on reel weight, to find the perfect balance. This is not a new concept, but you don't see this concept with recessed hoods that often. Most often it appears with dual sliding bands over a naked insert. The rest of the rod is appointed with a Ritz grip, arched Mildrum type stripping guide and Snake Brand Originals, all blued and wrapped with blue YLI silk.
