This rod was ordered by a friend and a fellow rod builder in the US to add to his personal collection. I have handled a few of his builds, and the high level of craftsmanship has pushed me a little extra this time. The blank is one of Mike McFarlands recent tapers. This 6'9'', 3wt is very crisp with a medium fast dry fly action. The unpainted white blank is tinted in green which gives it a very strong personality. I didn't want to ruin it with additional colors, but instead add the right materials to enhance the visual aura of the blank. I decided to use corian, bamboo and shaded silk wraps, together with a Mildrum stripping guide and Recoil snakes to keep the fast performance of the rod. Total weight of this build is 50g (1.76 oz).
